A useful link.
With the context.
You should know why a resource is here and what we actually checked before you spend time on it.
What “Source checked” means
We checked the publisher’s page, its destination, and the offering described there. Each listing has an original summary, a reason for inclusion, and a dated note explaining the scope of that check.
It does not mean that we independently tested every app, certified an activity as safe, or assessed a child’s needs. A publisher’s age range or cost claim stays attributed to that publisher. We do not give resources a safety badge or invent star ratings.
What earns a place
- A clear use for a parent of a preschool or school-age child.
- An identifiable publisher and a source page we can inspect.
- Enough practical detail to explain the resource and its limitations.
- A useful free offering, or a clear explanation of access and paid extras.
Family stages help you browse
The age filters are editorial groupings for finding relevant family topics. They are not child age ratings. Some resources are for parents to read; others are activities to explore together. Each detail page explains this distinction. Check the individual activity, publisher guidance, and your child’s needs before using it.
Free should mean something specific
For an article, “Free” refers to reading the linked page. For an activity, it refers to the instructions, not supplies, travel, or admission. Tools with paid extras are labelled separately. If access is unclear, we say to check with the publisher. Costs and availability can change.
Sources, images, and independence
Publisher names identify where a resource comes from. They do not imply a partnership or endorsement. The illustrations are original directory artwork, not screenshots of the resources. Origami’s own games are labelled “Made by Origami” and remain separate from the family calendar app.
Keeping the directory useful
Each entry keeps its original source-check date. Link checks do not renew that date or stand in for an editorial review. Entries can be marked for review or removed when their destination or offering changes.
We aim to revisit source checks every 90 days. This directory does not provide individual medical, educational, or developmental advice. Use specialist sources and someone who understands your family’s needs for those decisions.
